Distracted driving is not a new problem. Instead, it is a problem that is becoming worst, not better, despite advances in technology that are supposed to help stop distracted driving. However, drivers in some states seem to be more distracted than others.
Distracted Driving Statistics
According to a study published by MoneyGeek.com, analysts looked at data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and ranked states that had the least to most distracted driving fatalities.
As you can see, Arkansas is not the worst, but not the safest, when it comes to distracted driving fatalities. The state ranked 36th overall with .52 fatalities per billion miles and 37 confirmed distracted driving deaths in 2019. Only a handful of other states had fewer confirmed distracted driving fatalities.
